The Olympics are over. In the end they didn't fare so badly for Spain: 19 medals (but only 3 golds) and left a some very interesting moments: Kenteris' and Thanou's incident (car "accident" included), Nemov's being cheated a gold medal by some inept judges, the Dream Team's demise, or Lima's being annoyed by some guy dressed in Greek traditional clothes in the marathon... I don't think these were particularly good games (you've probably already seen my previous rants) but now they're over and the next stop is Beijing 2008In Formula-1 Schumacher, the best driver in the history of Formula-1, won his 7th world championship the same day that Alonso (for many, Alonso will take Schumi's place when he retires) had to quit prematurely when he was ahead of the race. And in the world of football, the Spanish "la liga" started yesterday with Etoo's, Deco's and Ronaldinho's new Barcelona beating Racing of Santander away 0-2, showing the whole Spain that this year they're here to stay. For real. Hopefully

This is possibly one of the funniest articles I've read lately (well ok, it's not that I read that much but I found this one particularly funny): Kiss My Megatruck, Dude. It's about the latest SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle), a beast that makes the the Hummer look like a tiny spot on the road... The truck is simply amazing, but I completely agree with the [witty] points raised in the article related to absurd demonstrations of machismoApple licensing iPod and iTMS to HP

At the same time, HP's new computers and laptops will come with the iTunes softare preinstalled.Mandatory links to the Slashdot discussion about the topic and to Francesc's post on the same (when it comes to Apple, he's always the first carrying the news
Threatening their own customers?

Looks like US broadband internet provider Comcast is now sending threatening letters to users who download a lot of data (more here), according to their yet undisclosed "standards" and rates. The whole issue here seems to be that Comcast was advertising the service as "unlimited", so it has now come as a big surprise to many users.Things like this are very annoying and I wonder if it will ever happen in Europe...
When your bussiness model doesn't work anymore...

...sue the competition. That's exactly what Kodak has done. During the "digital revolution", contenders such as Sony and Canon dared to step forward and challenge the dominance of Kodak in the picture market. Kodak lost (at least, they're not the biggest in the US market) and now they have decided to sue Sony because of patent infringement. To make it easy to understand: "we are lagging behind and our bussiness model is crap so why don't we start sending lawsuits at will and see what happens?" (doesn't this sound slightly reminiscent of what SCO is currently doing?
That's simply amazing... And besides, shouldn't they be suing all the companies that produce digital cameras?
