Schumi's new car unveiled

Ferrari's new red car, the F2004, was unvelied today in Maranello. Lighter, faster, with a renewed engine and the latest set of tires, we all hope that this new car will give us once more many glorious victories and another world championship!! It's been even touted by Ross Brown as the best Ferrari they've ever built so this looks very good.
I just hope that Fernando Alonso makes Ferrari sweat a little bit more this year to win the championship, and perhaps by 2005 we can have a Spanish formula-1 champion ![]()
First race of the season, and Alonso 3rd

The first race of the season was last weekend in Melbourne and in case anybody still had doubts, the Ferraris kicked everybody's ass. The controlled the race from beginning to end, because nobody comes close to the power that these two cars have. And without news of Raikkonen, Montoya, Coulthard or Ralf Schumacher, future Spanish F-1 champion Fernando Alonso didn't need to take his skills to the limit to reach the end of the race in a fantastic 3rd position, if you keep in mind the difference in power between the Ferrari and the Renault. He didn't leave the 3rd position that he reached right after the start, when overtook the two cars that were in front of him immediately after the traffic light turned red... even if he needed to leave the track and drive on the grass for a few meters.
I don't personally think that this year he can do much again the Ferrari but who knows, maybe in one or two years he'll be given the chance to drive a Ferrari (many people see him as the natural successor of Michael Schumacher), and then we'll have for the first time a Spanish Formula-1 champion!

The Olympics are over. In the end they didn't fare so badly for Spain: 19 medals (but only 3 golds) and left a some very interesting moments: Kenteris' and Thanou's incident (car "accident" included), Nemov's being cheated a gold medal by some inept judges, the Dream Team's demise, or Lima's being annoyed by some guy dressed in Greek traditional clothes in the marathon... I don't think these were particularly good games (you've probably already seen my previous rants) but now they're over and the next stop is Beijing 2008In Formula-1 Schumacher, the best driver in the history of Formula-1, won his 7th world championship the same day that Alonso (for many, Alonso will take Schumi's place when he retires) had to quit prematurely when he was ahead of the race. And in the world of football, the Spanish "la liga" started yesterday with Etoo's, Deco's and Ronaldinho's new Barcelona beating Racing of Santander away 0-2, showing the whole Spain that this year they're here to stay. For real. Hopefully
