More on the Mac mini

My sister was looking for a new computer... If it depends on me, they've got new computer :)

Look at this beauty:

Mac mini

What else? Well: silent, measuring only 16.5 cm x 16.5 cm x 5.08 cm, this must be the smallest desktop computer ever. Just compare :) Not to mention that it runs the most user friendly desktop OS out there (and this is not just my subjective opinion!)

Lots of positive comments already in Slashdot and OSNews (and few trolls too)

Python for Series60

Nokia finally made the Python runtime for Series60 available near the end of last year. Python in Series60 might be the answer for those of us who would enjoy a relatively easy way to develop tools for our Nokia/Series60/Symbian phones without getting frustrated at the limitations of J2ME or running away from SymbianOS and C++.

You can get the runtime here, documentation is included or it can also be found here. There is an official Series60 Python forum in the Nokia developers forums, and there are also some sites and blog posts out there with lots of interesting info such as this one, this one, even a Python Series60 wiki, or this blog from one of the Nokia guys who ported Python.

The good thing is that all you need is a text editor, the API docs as reference and when you're ready, just transfer the source to your phone via Bluetooth. It's just great :-) I always wanted to develop something for my Nokia phone so I might as well take a break from PHP and pLog soon...

Christmas and New Year's eve 2004 highlights

I have to admit that it wasn't that exciting. My home town was as dull as usual... Lots of food, family meetings, etc. Speaking of family meetings, my cousin gave a leason of how not to dress up when you have a family meeting with grandparents, uncles, etc:

Cool tshirt

The t-shirt is cool :), but that's probably not the best way to go and say hello to your grandma :)

New year's eve is always a busy time in Spain because everybody goes out... even more! If you don't believe me, take a look at how busy everything was around 1:30 in the morning:

Finally, there was a new inhabitant in my parent's place that I hadn't heard of: another dog (it's the second dog... plus the two cats :P) Cute if you ask me (some sort of cross between a Husky and Bulldog Terrier) but I see two problems: this dog eats a lot and it's going to grow quite big. Anyway, not my problem :)

Ecto test

Ecto is a desktop blogging client for OSX, that allows users to blog right from their desktop using XMLRPC APIs. It's quite cool, and I might even start using it... In fact, this has been posted from Ecto using the metaWeblog XMLRPC API and it works quite well :)
