The Sims play SimCity

Amongst the myriad of extension packs that have been released for The Sims, this fan-made one ought to be the funniest one: The Sims play SimCity. It is now possible to keep your Sims amused by instead of working or taking care of the children, by playing SimCity within the Sims. It's kind of like having the Sims be a "metagame", just for playing another game... Cool!Let's go to Fucking (Austria)

Generate your own bar code

I found a site today where you can generate your own bar code. It needs Flash, but the result is quite funny and if you click the "Print" button, the printout looks quite nice
Franz Ferdinand

It took me a while to figure out who was behind a song called "Take me
out". I tried googling but it was quite difficult, as I wasn't able to
understand much from the lyrics and as you might have guessed, you get
plenty of pages if you try to search for "take me out"
Anyway,
in the end I found the name and they are called Franz Ferdinand, and I
like them. They play some kind of alternative rock and sometimes they remind me of young U2 (though don't believe too much because I don't know much about rock after all
) and their first album is also called "Franz Ferdinand". They already
have a couple of big hits out there: "Take me out" which is the one
that brought me to them and "The Dark of the MatinČe", but I also like other songs from the album such as "Fire" and "Auf Achse"... Though the album is a bit short (roughly 35 minutes), it was a great surprise to find a band like this, if only to take a break from my usual electronic stuff ![]()
Wireless home

Now that my laptop has a wireless network card inside (Apple Airport Extreme) compatible with the 802.11b (11Mbps) and 802.11g (45Mbps) standards, it was about time I got a wireless access point. Turns out that the PC Superstore here in Helsinki had an offer of a DWL-700AP for 79Ä. It supports the 802.11b standard which is more than enough for a very little home network, and I have the say that it works great. The only problem I had when configuring it is that I couldn't figure out how to input 128 bit WEP key in my Mac, for encryption and increased ecurity so I left it using a 64 bit WEP key which is more than enough for the time being (though I now know how to do it so I'll set it up soon)Setting up everything else was a breeze. The wireless network configuration in the Mac is very easy to use: turn on AirPort and it will detect the network settings, asking you the WEP key if necessary. And that's it!
