A bit of pLog...

Go check out pLog 1.0.2-beta, it's just been released! :)

Also pLog 1.1 is starting to look good... We've already managed to get it running with 4-5Mb of memory, instead of the 10-12Mb that pLog 1.0.x requires. I'm actually quite excited about these improvements, and users running busy hosting sites will also be quite excited about it! Imagine if every single HTTP request made to your site suddenly required 2-3 times less memory, wouldn't you be excited too? :)

Aaaah, I love popularity! pLog is becoming the tool of choice in Germany when setting up blogging services for journalists. First it was the Axel Springer group, and now it's Stern! It's really cool, they've even spoken to Michael and given him some feedback!

We really have to get our hands on doing some more aggressive marketing. These are really big achievements (two German and one Norwegian media powerhouses using pLog? Woohoo!) and I am sure that if instead of pLog they had chosen WP, half of the blogging "community" would be already having wet dreams... I am sure it's because our biggest "markets" so far are Europe and part of Asia and in the American blogosphere (70-80% of the total number of blogs) nobody cares about those.

We have to get into the American market and I think we're on the right track. If not, look at Classcaster.org: they got an Asterisk PBX hooked up to pLog so it is possible for their users to dial a phone number, talk for a while (up to 5 minutes) and the call will be automatically published to one of the blogs as a podcast. If I could give a prize for the "coolest pLog implementation ever", I would give it to them!! Check out their test blog, some people have already called :)
