Pictures from my holidays

Now that we're back to our daily life, it is time to take a look at the pictures taken during holidays, if only just to remember how nice it can be when you don't have to work every day :)

I've uploaded some of the ones that I think are the best, hope you like them too! In the pictures from Lanzarote (Canary Islands) you will see a really dry landscape, looking almost like the Moon (or Mordor :)) due to its volcanic nature. In the ones from Saint Petersburg, I have included the Saint Isaac and Peter and Paul cathedral, the magnificent parks of Peterhoff and Catherine the Great, the Church on the Spilled Blood and the white nights, when everybody is up until late watching the bridges over the river Neva open.

A have a question, have you cut/crop any of these photos? It's curious that all these photos haven't got 4:3 aspect ratio, and have "normal photo" aspect ratio.
    Anyway photos are very good.

All these pictures except two were taken with a Canon EOS 300D at 6 megapixels with a resolution of 3072 x 2048 pixels. I used Photoshop CS and the "Save for web..." feature to resize and save them, but when I resized them I made sure that the "constraint proportions" checkbox was activated and Photoshop decided that the right size was 1024 x 683 pixels... I didn't care too much about the resolution, I thought it looked good anyway :)

I forgot to say that I did not do any modification on any of them... They were downloaded from the camera, resized and recompressed to a smaller size, nothing else.

I have take a look to my camera resolutions and the biggest is 3072x2304, I think your canon eos have photo aspect for professional results.
Talking about modify your photos, some kind of modifications that you can do, are modifications that some camerashops do in analog photographies. It It isn't a bad thing to crop your photos to correct some details that you didn't see when you take the photo. Well, it's my kind of view.

Oscar, you obviously had some very nice and varied holidays, too. I like the pictures you made. Especially IMG_0844.JPG, which you obvously didn't take with your mobile :-D

I never modify my pictures, or at least I never remove anything from them... I like them like that, spontaneous :)

Well yes, I can't complain about variety in my holidays this year!

By the way, I have high-resolution versions of all these pictures if interested. I have the one with the cactus that you like set as my desktop background (guess I liked it too :))
